Millions of Children Unite in Song

Local students got to take part in a very special musical event, with other students around the world.

The National Association of Music Teachers sponsored the 'world's largest concert' celebration.

During the concert, millions of children from across the world linked up to sing songs together. The local event was held at the Temple Theater.

"We're going to be featured on a DVD, where we filmed down at Dunn's Falls, where we did a pioneer song, and at Dentzel Carousel, where we did a German one,"
said Northeast Elementary School music teacher Sharon Pratt.

The event is part of National Music in Our Schools Month.

The National Association of Music Teachers estimates about six million students took part worldwide.
