MERIDIAN, Miss --- Saturday afternoon at Acme Plaza in Meridian folks were shooting three pointers to help earthquake victims in Haiti. The "Help-4-Haiti" three point shootout was sponsored by an area business, Marcus Easley of "Supply and D3mand Shoes and Clothes" said he wanted to help Haiti because he remembers what it felt like following Hurricane Katrina.

"Looking at the situation and all the rubble it kind of reminded you of where we were [after Katrina]...so [the fundraiser] is an effort to help others while we're doing ok," Easley said at the event.

The winner of the shootout won a $300 gift certificate to Supply and D3mand, and all proceeds from the event were donated to the Key Chapter of the American Red Cross.
