VFW Pancake Breakfast

In honor of our veteran's, Meridian's VFW hosted it's monthly pancake breakfast Saturday Morning.

Although the VFW volunteers are proud of the hearty food they cook for so many, they say the purpose of the meal is far more important. Danny Smith is one of those volunteers. He says the money raised from the breakfast serves individual veterans as well as their entire families.

"We use this as a fundraiser for some of the things that we're trying to do as opposed to the help of veterans and their families when the call arises. Also with the veterans in the community, we try to get things set up here so that we can be more of a presence in their lives and the community's lives."

Those with a big, morning appetite could get all they could eat for just five dollars. Those funds are why so many volunteers help in order to give back to our vets.

They talked about it on Live at 5 last week. Do you need a gold, engraved invitation, with two weeks notice?!
