A University of West Alabama campus security officer has been arrested.
44-year-old William Dale Flowers of York turned himself in to authorities Monday.
Flowers is charged with the alleged misuse of confidential law enforcement data.
Flowers was recently indicted for nine counts of obtaining criminal offender information under false pretenses.
If found guilty on all charges, he could face more than 40 years in prison.
Shortly after being arrested, Flowers was released from the Sumter County Jail on $20,000 bond.
