Investigators with the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department originally thought a string of car burglaries in the area of Old 8th Street Road involved seven vehicles.
But they say it was discovered later that eleven cars were burglarized in the overnight hours of Mar. 11.
21-year-old Donovan Dean Cermak was arrested Tuesday night at his home in west Meridian and is charged with committing the crimes.
Investigators say they found one consistency with the burglaries.
"The consistency was finding unopened automobiles that he could enter without attracting any attention," said Calhoun. "I want to remind the community again, there are other people out there who are wanting and who are willing to take items that belong to you. Do everything that you can to prevent that. Don't leave anything in your vehicles of value that can be seen through your windows."
Almost all of the items stolen have been recovered. Investigators found the items at Cermak's home.
This case is still under investigation and will be presented to the next session of the Lauderdale County grand jury.
