A University of West Alabama campus police officer made an appearance in court Thursday.
44-year-old William Dale Flowers pleaded not guilty to charges that he misused confidential law enforcement data.
Flowers is facing nine counts of obtaining criminal offender information under false pretenses.
If found guilty, he could face more than 40 years in jail. At this time there is no official word on when his case will go to trial.
