East Central Community College says there will not be any charges filed in an alleged rape reported April 6.
ECCC president, Dr. Phil Sutphin, made the announcement following an investigation by campus police. The reported incident involved a female non-student and occurred after 10 p.m. Tuesday in a men's residence hall.
"After interviewing all identified witnesses and reviewing all physical evidence identified and collected, the decision has been made by the ECCC Police Department, in consultation with the alleged victim's parents, that there was insufficient evidence to pursue rape charges against any person(s) in this case," said Sutphin. "Any further action in this matter will be campus-based disciplinary actions."
