MHS Choir to Sing at Braves Game

Choral students at Meridian High School will sing for a large audience April 18.

The MHS Choir has again been invited to sing the National Anthem at the opening of an Atlanta Braves game.

The choir has performed there before, but this will be the first time for many of the students.

"We have been invited to sing many years. And this is a big thing to me, because this is my first year going to Atlanta to sing for a big game, so I'm really excited about that," said Tashiya Ward, a junior. "And it's a very big privilege and an honor to sing for them."

Sunday, April 18, tune in early as the Braves take on the Cincinnati Reds at Turner Field. You may be able to catch the MHS Choir as well.

The Meridian High School choir members are a great group of kids. The majority of them raised the money like they should have to go on this trip and perform up to their ability. Mrs. McLemore and Mrs. Davis are two of the greatest musical teachers/directors MHS has ever had. As a mother, I am proud of my child who has accomplished a lot being a member of this choir. Thanks Mrs. McLemore and Mrs. Davis.

Great opportunity for MHS students! I hope they have a wonderful trip and are on their best behavior and represent MPSD in a positive and professional way. They have a wonderful teacher that should be commended for her outstanding work and effort to showcase her students!
