A benefit concert was held Sunday, all in the name of the American Red Cross.
Community members say they know the Red Cross is in need of funds and they want to do anything they can to help bring those in.
Originally, the funds raised through this benefit concert were going to be donated for Haiti relief. Those helping decided they first wanted to start contributing at home.
"We need to start at home, do something at home, because the home needs us right now. There have been so many fires. We know that the Red Cross is kind of low in funds so we just have to do it and give it to them so they can keep working with this project in the community," says Roy Duff, a volunteer.
The benefit concert was Sunday at 3 p.m. The music could be heard at the Frank Cochran Center in Meridian. Tickets were ten and fifteen dollars.
