Pastors High on Missions

A pair of local pastors are going to great heights to try to raise money for missions.

The pastors of the Butler Assembly of God Church have been perched atop Mr. Discount Drugs in Butler, trying to raise $5,000 for missions.

Pastors Jimmie Watson and John McLure say they won't come down until the money has been raised. They've been on the roof since earlier this week.

"We are getting real close, and we have had a good attendance," said youth pastor, McLure. "A lot of people stopping by and asking what is going on. So it has been a wonderful time. "

At last count, the two men were about $1,800 short of their fundraising goal.

I like to hear about things like this... I think the evangel temple should do things like this since they have the means.

The actual goal for this event was $15,000.00 to be raised for three different projects, all involving taking the Gospel message of Jesus Christ around the world. You can find out more about our missions projects by going to the National Assemblies of God website www.ag.org and clicking on Speed the Light or Boys and Girls Missionary Crusade. The goal was not only met, but exceeded tonight and all pastors are now "Off the roof". Thank you to all who helped.
