A Meridian family is offering a cash reward for additional information relating to the 2009 shooting death of Jerome Hearn.
A hearing Tuesday in Lauderdale County Circuit Court set bond for Ricky Thomas, one of two people charged with capital murder in Hearn's death.
Until Tuesday, Thomas had been held with no bond since his arrest in November.
The grieving family of Hearn said it believes Thomas, and co-defendant Frederick Moore, should both remain jailed.
Members say they hope to gain additional information and get to the bottom of the case.
"Right now, we are comfortable with what's going on with the police department, but right now we feel like there is something else out there," said Hearn's aunt, Cassandra Anderson. "We feel that there is a missing link that's pending in this case. Right now we are just asking, if there is any additional information out there, maybe someone saw something, or heard something before it happened, after it happened. We just need to know because we are concerned citizens."
The March grand jury sent the case back to the Meridian Police Department for further investigation after hearing evidence. The case is to be presented to another grand jury in August.
Information about the case may be reported to Meridian police investigations at 601-485-1859.
