The United Way of East Mississippi has named Bill Patterson as its chairman of the board of directors. Patterson said it's a great honor to be recognized in this way.
“We have just emerged from an outstanding community campaign this year,” said Patterson, the CEO of Alliance Health Center. “And in this new role, I want to keep the momentum going. I’m excited by this new challenge.”
United Way also announced eight new board members who were recently appointed to four-year terms: Greg Bott, President of Bott, Inc.; Katie Chamblee, Vice President of Human Resources for Anderson Regional Medical Center; Marilyn James, Student Services Manager for Mississippi State University Meridian; Cecil Johnson, Director of Community and Supportive Services for Meridian Housing Authority; Alan Lamar, Financial Advisor for Stifel Nicolaus & Company; Deborah Parker, Retired Counselor from Meridian Public School District; Cynthia Touchton, Vice President and Branch Manager with Regions Bank; and Damon Wise, Director of Pain Treatment with Rush Health Systems.
This year, the United Way of East Mississippi met its goal of raising $800,000. Monies raised assists sixteen local agencies.
