The state Court of Appeals has upheld the murder conviction and life sentence given Cleveland Palmer in a 2004 apartment house slaying in Pascagoula.
Palmer was convicted in 2008 in Jackson County in the death of Glen "Chew" Manning.
Prosecutors say Palmer and Manning were neighbors in Pascagoula on Oct. 26, 2004, the night Manning was shot and later died at a local hospital.
The Appeals Court on Tuesday rejected Palmer's claim that his attorney should have done a better job.
