Northeast Students Named to 'Head of the Class'

The East Mississippi Business Development Corporation recognized students at the head of the class Wednesday.

The group's education committee surprised students at Northeast High School.

Mariah Bohl is studying allied health II. Hunter heath is involved in co-op.

"Really it's quite an honor. I mean, it shows how much I've improved in the work first. How much I've improved, me personally, because I've learned to communicate with others, develop teamwork abilities and leadership skills in my opinion," said Heath, a senior.

"I was really surprised to win this award," said Bohl, a junior. "I work hard in school and I try to do my best in everything I do. And you know, I want to, graduate and go to college and go to medical school and hopefully become a doctor or surgeon."

The EMBDC is recognizing outstanding vocational and technical students from all four Lauderdale County high schools and Meridian High School.
