Devastation is all too real for so many Mississippians. Over the last few years hurricanes, tropical storms, and tornadoes have ripped apart lives, and the Red Cross has been there to help pick up the pieces.
In the aftermath of the two recent storm systems that touched down in the state, the Red Cross has mobilized more than 300 volunteers, served more than 12,000 meals, and twice as many snacks.
They also used 18 vehicles to deliver hot meals to the houses of those affected and more than 8.000 tools that residents could use to begin the clean-up process. Today we are joining television stations across the state to try and raise awareness and much needed funds for the Red Cross.
In order for the Red Cross to be able to continue to be there when tragedy strikes they need your help. To make a donation call 1-800-RED-CROSS, go online to www.RedCross.org, or simply text REDCROSS to 9-0-9-9-9. A small gift can make a big difference.
