A Neshoba County grand jury has indicted a man for aggravated assault in connection with the shooting of a woman while she was standing on her carport.
28-year old Christopher Lamar Smith was also indicted for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Smith is accused of shooting 60-year old Nellie Woodward five times, while she stood on her carport in the Shady Grove community.
Woodward did recover after surgery in Jackson.
