MPD: Cause of Death Determined

The Meridian Police Department says the state crime lab has determined the cause of death for two men found May 5 on the banks of Sowashee Creek.

Officials say toxicology reports found the two died of a lethal combination of alcohol and a depressant prescription drug.

45-year-old Christopher K. Williams and Gary Brown Haire, 56, had no obvious signs of trauma.

Police are now treating the deaths as a general inquest investigation.

I can not believe a human being would EVER talk about another human being like this. I spit on anyone who would say something like this. And I would never wish anything like this on anyone so show a LITTLE respect

Laura apparently WTOK is doing their job. They release the info they had on this case as soon as they got it. And if People were not interested in it no one were have taken time to comment. You yourself even went back to "old News" to make a comment. If you dont like reading past news stories then just buy the paper. The good thing about the online copy is that you can go back weeks, months or even years if you want to find info on "old News" Good Job WTOK!

OK---how long ago did this incident happen? May 5, right? And how long ago was the cause of the deaths determined? About a week to ten days later, right? WTOK---don't you REALLY think that this story has run its course? How much longer do you think we really would be interested in this "old news"? Again, for lack of your attention to these postings and their time frames, you just let them run on and on---I, for one, ask for more current presentation of the news, which you do a poor job on, anyway---even on your best days. Do your jobs as they should be done---you are showing and proving yourselves to be the non-professionals that you are.

Maybe BuBBa got the money! I did hear however that the one Man did in fact have alot of money. Not sure how he made his money but folks are says he was quite well off. Sometimes the homeless choose that life and it easier then what some may think. It like a summer camping trip. And why does everyone always think that they does not have money? Many of them do have monthly checks. Folks tend to group them all together as homeless bums and that is not always the case. I really wonder what really killed them. I agree w/ Sue. If those men died from drinking and taken a few pills then most of the teenagers in this area would already be dead. So I am not buying it either!

This is to mac,,,first off let me say that i have the honor of knowing one of the deceased gentlemans son. He has a grandson on the way and no he didn't make the choice to become the person he had,,no one wakes up one morning and says "hey im gonna become homeless. With the way the economy is most are one pay check away from that disaster. Did you know either gentleman? They are someone's son, father, grandfather. There is nothing written, spoken or even ask for your disrespectful comments. They are God's children just as you are and I pray that God will give you the compassion that those two gentlemens' families so desperately need. Think of how your family would feel if it where you.

Mac, you are a very sick person. It does not matter if we knew them or not. What if you have a loved one that this happened to?? You would be trying to find out who did this or how it happened. You get off your high horse and be ready for your day. God sees the person you are, not caring for others. You will need the pity when you face God. You are the dumb one, and I feel sorry for you for not having any feelings at all. I am not saying to cry your eyes out, or even mourn over the deaths, but at least have some sense about you.

We the resident in the area are very sad for those two individuals. We need more carrying officers in the field.Get rid of the ones who just ride around looking for the young girls. Get rid of them now because they are making the department look really bad.
