Green, purple, yellow, and more. Plants of all kinds were blossoming Saturday throughout downtown Meridian.
The colorful occasion at Farmer's Market is the East Mississippi Master Gardeners' Annual Plant Sale. From 7a.m. until 3p.m. you could hunt through the leaves and flowers. Gardeners could find perennials, shrubs, trees, and native plants.
Proceeds from the plant sales help a college student each year.
"We do it to raise funds to provide scholarships for a student at Mississippi State. We also give our plants and our time and money to community projects," explains Marcia Griffis, the President of the East Mississippi Master Gardeners.
One of those projects members of the East Mississippi Master Gardeners are helping with is out at Bonita lakes in Meridian. They have set aside money for a trail that is being worked on there.
