Severe Weather Moves Through East Mississippi

A round of severe weather moved through the Meridian area Thursday afternoon, bringing hail and strong winds.

A large tree fell across the road on Old Highway 45 in Marion around 4 p.m. Power lines were also downed in Marion.

Winds knocked down numerous trees and power lines in various areas.

Newscenter 11 had reports from near Conehatta in western Newton County, Ellisville and Mill Hill in Jones County.

Hail the size of half dollars was also reported in Mill Hill. Multiple hail reports have been received from Dixon in Neshoba County, as well as around Marion in Lauderdale County.

Trees were reported down along Highway 505 south of Philadelphia and also near Tucker along Highway 19.
