Three local organizations teamed up Saturday in order to provide health information to the community.
Members of Meridian's Wesley Chapel Methodist Church, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, and Eliza Pillars Nursing Association hosted an annual health fair from 8:30 Saturday morning until noon. The three organizations put the health fair on to keep members of the community strong.
"We try to put it on every year because there is a need in the community to keep education abreast of the things that are going on in medical care and also in the health of our souls and mind," explains Gloria McAlpine, one of the organizers.
"One of our signature projects is called ZHOPE. it stands for Zeta's helping other people excel through mind, body, and spirit. And along with the Eliza Pillars Nursing Association, and Wesley United Methodist Church, we put this health fair on. We try to do it each year," says Barbie White, the President of Delta Nu Zeta, the local chapter of Zeta Phi Beta.
The health fair was planned for earlier this month and had to be reschedule due to severe weather that came through our area
