A local church Saturday made sure no one went without some food.

Meridian's Trinity Assembly of God gave away free hot dog plate lunches to anyone and everyone. You could get some free grub at Meridian's Walgreen's on North Hills Street. Pastor Josh Lane of Trinity Assembly of God says the church members just want to give back to the community.

"We're just trying to do something once a month. We're trying to do away with the stigma that churches are not out to give anything to free and to help people out. We just want the whole community to know that we are here for them," says Pastor Lane.

This is the second time this year the church has given away hot dog plates. They have done other free food giveaways in the past as well.
