Lauderdale County Relay for Life wrapped up its business for the 2010 event Wednesday.
It finished by bestowing awards on those who made this year's fundraiser a success.
The annual Relay for Life brings in money for cancer research to try to find a cure.
This year, Lauderdale County brought in $280,000, just a little short of its $300,000 goal.
"Our top money raiser this year was A & B Electric. And right on their coattails was Mississippi Power Company. And following right behind them was Rush Hospital," said coordinator Becky Vance. "They always are big money raisers. They have a way. They know how to do it and they get out there."
Vance said a new team this year, Amy's Angels, spent only about a month raising money, but was also among the top contributors.
