Members of the Meridian School Board met in special session Thursday night with an outside consultant who narrowed the search for a superintendent from 17 applicants down to 6.
The school board then chose 4 of those six to interview next week for the position.
"Wednesday night we will interview two applicants beginning at 5:30," said board president, Dr. Don Evans. "We'll interview one at 5:30 and then one at 7:00. And then Thursday night of next week, we will interview the other two applicants, beginning at 5:30 and the other at 7:00."
The names of the four candidates will not be announced until next week's interviews.
The school board also created a safety and security committee. Members say they did this in order to evaluate what areas of safety need improving.
