Members of one local church hosted their annual walk that brings community members together Saturday afternoon.

Members of Meridian's Trinity Assembly of God Saturday held their annual Walk for Renewal. Church members as well as community members came together in order to face the future with more positive thinking.

"Basically we invited the whole community to come out and pray for God's renewal and blessing on our city," says Pastor Josh Lane.

Walk for Renewal is not just a walk in the park. It's actually an all day affair. From 10 Saturday morning until noon, participants walked together. Then from noon until 2 Saturday afternoon, the event provided entertainment for people of all ages.

"We're having entertainment. Different youth groups doing dramas, mimes, bands playing, and different stuff like that. We have moon walks for the kids, face painting, and free lunch for whoever comes out. We're just having a great time," says Lane.

To keep the energy high amongst participants, food was also provided. The church gave away 250 free hamburger plates.
