Health was the topic of discussion Saturday for many local residents.
Members of Meridian's Mount Olive Baptist Church partnered with the Greater Meridian Health Clinic in order to host their first ever Men's Health Fair. The health fair offered men various types of screenings. A number of doctors also spoke at the fair in order to answer any questions men might have about their own health. A.D. Lewis, the pastor of the church, says it was an easy decision when deciding to host this type of fair.
"One of the main reasons is because we are conscious of the fact that men are the ones most likely not to go to the doctor, not to get checked, and our people of the church were concerned about the health of our men and everybody, but especially our men. And because of that concern decided to sponsor a health fair," says Pastor Lewis.
The men's health fair went from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
