Staff of United Blood Services is preparing for an important upcoming week.
Monday, June 14th is World Blood Donor Day, but UBS plans on honoring the day all week long. UBS has partnered with America's Blood Centers and Nexcare Give Bandages for this worldwide celebration.
Every donor will receive a patriotic bandage to wear as their badge of honor.
"It's to really kind of encourage and promote blood donations. And let everyone know where they've been; that they've been in the center to give. It's also a way that we can recognize the need for blood donors around the world, not just locally. It is a need worldwide,' explains Heather Knight, a marketing and communications specialist with UBS.
Also in honor of World Blood Donor Day, UBS will be giving away free red t-shirts to donors who visit Monday and the rest of the week.
