Workshop Emphasizes Internet Advantages

An Internet workshop is being offered free-of-charge Friday in Meridian.

The goal of the workshop is to help those interested in finding work, starting a business, or expanding your existing business on the Internet.

Meridian Main Street board president Kenny Watts said the Internet offers options to displaced workers and others looking for an opportunity.

"We use Internet constantly, but we don't necessarily use it for networking as well as we could, or getting information that we could use day to day," said Watts. "And utilizing, the access is so inexpensive, that's what's most exciting. So those three things: using your personal funds for the most effective use, learning how to use the tools that exist and then putting them together into a business activity."

There are still some openings for the workshop, which will be held at the MSU Riley Center, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., but seating is limited.
