The Mississippi Department of Transportation released updates Wednesday about ongoing projects in District 6.
U.S. Highway 84 from Waynesboro to Alabama state line:
Work is continuing on the $26.3 million U.S. Highway 84 project to complete the construction and surfacing of a 10 mile segment of Highway 84. Crews are expanding the existing two lane highway into four lanes, building a new bridge, and constructing roadway on new location. Once completed, the U.S. Highway 84, known as the "El Camino Corridor", will be four-laned from Natchez at the Louisiana state line continuing east to the Alabama State line. It is scheduled for completion in 2011.
Interstate 59 near Enterprise Resurfacing Project:
Work is continuing in Clarke County on the $5.8 million Interstate 59 project to repair of base failures and resurfacing of approximately 7 miles of roadway from the North Enterprise exit, north to the Lauderdale County line. The project is scheduled for completion this summer.
