A 2010 Clarkdale High School graduate is leading her fellow Future Farmers of America.
Meagan Lee acted as the statewide FFA Vice President for the 2009-2010 school year. She joined the organization five years ago.
Lee has now stepped up her game. This year, she will act as the statewide FAA President. In order to get the position, Lee had to go through a 4 day nominating committee. That consisted of 9 members who conducted on-on-one and group interviews. Now that she's FFA President, Lee will be moving to Jackson for a year.
"I will actually get my way paid for Hines Community College; room and board. They will pay for my classes and I will also work with the Commissioner of Agriculture, Lester Spell for a year and kind of be his intern and get to know him. I'll work with him and get to do some things with the market bulletin also," says Lee.
In July, Lee will travel to Washington D.C. There she will have the chance to speak with Senators and Representatives about the future of agriculture in the state of Mississippi.
