The town of Decatur Monday issued a Boil Water Notice Monday for approximately 1,840 customers.

Water system officials notified the Mississippi State Department of Health of a system wide pressure loss due to a control malfunction.

Public health officials consider any system that loses pressure contaminated until tests prove otherwise.

Drinking water should be boiled vigorously for one minute before it is consumed.
