Meridian, Miss. Anderson Regional Medical Center hosted its 10th Annual Christmas Tribute ceremony Thursday.
People purchase Christmas ornaments in honor of special people in their lives who have battled cancer.
The proceeds from the event go to the Cancer Patient Benevolence Fund at Anderson Regional Cancer Center.
The names of the loved ones were read out loud, and people came and hung their ornaments on the trees. They may also take the ornaments home to put on their own Christmas trees.
"We are hearing a lot of stories about people who have gotten ornaments from even the past ten years on their trees at home that they've been doing, so this is quite a tradition in our community and we are just proud to be a part of it," said Wayne Herrington, administrative director of Anderson Cancer Center.
More than $7,000 has been raised so far this year through the ornament purchases. If you would like to buy an ornament, you may still do so at Anderson Regional Cancer Center.
