Meridian police are investigating a pair of attempted armed robberies at convenience stores overnight.

Police say someone attempted to rob the Cefco stores on North Hills Street and 35th Avenue within minutes of one another.

A suspect fired a shot in the North Hills store before running away.

The suspect incidents is described as a tall, slender, black male, who has a light complexion, wearing a black hood.

Police say they believe the two could be related.

No one was injured in either instance.
