Beating the Heat

Beating the heat can be quite the challenge when you are faced with the temperatures we saw on Saturday.

Some people choose to just not even go outside and instead just enjoy the air conditioning. Local retailers say air conditioners have been flying off the shelves.

"With the heat breaking as it has lately , getting into 102 and 103 degrees, the air conditioners have just been flying off the shelf," Lowe's General Manager Bill Sanders says. "Corporate has sent us plenty of product to supply the area, hopefully we'll have enough to get us thru the next two or three weeks."

If you have to be outdoors during the hottest parts of the day, experts say it is important to drink plenty of fluids and take frequent breaks.
