Mississippi executed a man convicted of the shooting deaths of his 3-year-old daughter, his ex-wife and her parents. Court records show he also stole his former mother-in-law's wedding ring and gave it to his girlfriend in proposing marriage.
Authorities say 34-year-old Jan Michael Brawner died at 6:18 p.m. CDT Tuesday after being given a chemical injection Tuesday at the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman.
Prosecutors say Brawner went to his former in-laws' home on April 25, 2001, and killed the victims after learning his ex-wife planned to stop him from seeing their child. Court records show he also stole $300.
Authorities say Brawner admitted to the killings and was apologetic earlier in the day.
