A Collinsville man in custody could face charges in two local counties.
The burglary Cameron Sonak, 21, is accused of committing happened in broad daylight June 17 at a house in the Zion community in Kemper County.
The items he's accused of stealing range from cuff links to rings, a camera, an iPad and a collector's baseball among other things.
Right now Kemper County authorities are working to find out whether other items that were found inside Sonak's car were also stolen.
"We have a number of things such as jewelry that we know we can pin to him, but there are other things that are in his vehicle that's impounded in Lauderdale County that will probably have come from Kemper and parts of Lauderdale County also," said Kemper County Sheriff James Moore.
Sheriff Moore says most of the items taken were small, but valuable. As an investigation continues, authorities have a theory about what Sonak was planning to do with the items.
"One thing that possibly comes in mind that he could be doing is selling the stuff on eBay," said Moore. "You notice that several small items were taken, just anything that a person can grab and sell for money."
Currently, Sonak remains in the Kemper County jail. Bond for him is expected to be set either Wednesday or Thursday.
"The investigation is still early and I'm pretty sure that there are more people involved," said Moore.
