Saturday marked the second day of the popular event in west Alabama, Butler Fest. Each year, the two day event attracts thousands to the town of Butler, Alabama.

For the last 10 years people have come from all around to Choctaw County, Alabama for Butler Fest.

"The reason it is so hot today and not in the 70's like we've had is because I am outside. That's exactly the reason. You can blame me for the hot weather," teases Paulette Lafferty, 'The Pampered Chef'.

"It's a yearly event for everyone. It gets the community of Butler as one to come together and celebrate," explains Jonathon Sargent, one of the many enjoying Butlerfest.

"It brings people into this area. It's been growing the last few years, and of course we can use all we can get in here. There are some good people in this county, and you can see they love to gather," says Ron Smith, another man participating in the activities.

This year, people have come from as far away as Chicago.

Butler Fest is a time for the community to gather, and there's a little bit of just about everything.

Some are helping Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

"Save the girls is what we are trying to do. We recently had a friend who was diagnosed with breast cancer and she's having a really hard time. We are just trying to let everyone know that it's a serious deal when have one affected."

Some show up with plenty of talent to liven up this community party.

Paulette Lafferty from the Pampered Chef is one of the food vendors at Butler Fest. She says this is a good time to connect with old friends.

"I get to see people that I don't see all the time like people I went to school with. They'll come by and I get to see them. I'm here every year at the same spot, so people look me up and I have customers I see once a year with my Pampered Chef."

Dear Anonymous, At any given time there were more than "a couple hundred if that much" present. I'm not sure where you were. The rest of us had a wonderful time reconnecting with friends and family and enjoying the vendors and events. We'll be there every year!
