Lauderdale County, Miss. Sheriff Billy Sollie says an aggravated assault charge has been filed against a Lauderdale County man for a Wednesday shooting.
Sollie says 49-year old George Durham remained behind bars Thursday evening on $50,000 bond.
He's charged with shooting Clarence Michael Johnson, Jr., twice at Durham's residence on Mini Farm Road.
Sollie says it appears the men were fighting over a woman, but the investigation continues.
"Investigators are still interviewing persons who might have seen something yesterday, prior to or during the actual shooting," said Sollie. "Again, the individual was treated and released from a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. "
Sollie says investigators also recovered a .38 caliber handgun they believe was used in the shooting.
