A chase in Lauderdale County provided some tense moments for Meridian Police and Lauderdale County Sheriff's deputies Thursday.

Anthony Duane Talley Junior has been charged with felony fleeing after a pursuit that began in the county and ended at 14th Avenue and 21st Street.

Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun says that during the chase the suspect brandished a b-b gun that looked like a higher powered weapon.

The Meridian Police department assisted, a Calhoun says the sheriff's department appreciates MPD's teamwork.

Chasing these guys is very dangerous, and it puts innocent people at risk. I wonder why he was stopped in the first place? Was it something that was worth risking someone else's life over? Get real cops. Get their license plate and nab them later on. The life you save may be your own!

This guy almost caused a head on collision with my van carrying 3 children by speeding the wrong way down 39 yesterday. I hope he gets serious time for his recklessness and stupidity! I will be happy to testify if needed!
