Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes are being gathered this week in Meridian at Northcrest Baptist Church.
The boxes need to be packed into larger boxes for shipping, but there's a shortage of those.
Church officials are asking for donations of clean, sturdy, cardboard boxes that can fit 10-15 shoe boxes.
"Supplies were down this year. We really don't know. We've called and requested them from the district, and they're out," said the Rev. Paul Davis, associate pastor. "And we're about a third where we were last year. If it continues at this rate, there's no way we're going to be able to box everything."
If you'd like to donate, bring your boxes to Northcrest Baptist Church's student building, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., any day this week. Operation Christmas Child is sponsored by Samaritan's Purse.
