FEMA has announced the addition of thirteen counties designated for disaster assistance.
Clarke County is one of those thirteen counties newly designated for disaster assistance.
Residents of Clarke County that have been affected by Isaac may apply to see if they're eligible for help.
An amendment has been made to the declaration to include disaster unemployment assistance as well.
The Mississippi Department of Employment Security has begun accepting applications from those living or working in these 13 counties.
Affected workers included in these new counties have until October 10, 2012, to apply.
FEMA officials say it is important for anyone who received any damage to register. There is assistance available for individuals, families, and businesses.
"If you had any effects from Hurricane Isaac at all and you are in Clarke County, go ahead and call and make that first step," said Ted Stuckey, FEMA public information officer. "We encourage folks even if they have insurance to call FEMA and register and get in the process. And again let those experts determine what you eligible for and not."
You may register for assistance by calling 1-800-621-FEMA(3362) or to the FEMA website. A link is provided below.
