Lauderdale County, Miss. The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department says it has arrested a local man on assault charges.
Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun says 27-year old Justin Clearman was arrested Friday afternoon for aggravated assault and domestic violence. Calhoun tells Newscenter 11 this stems from an incident that happened two weeks ago.
In this type of case, authorities do not reveal the identity of the victim. Calhoun does say the victim continues to receive treatment for the injuries suffered during the alleged incident.
This is not the first time Clearman has been in trouble with the law. In 2010, he was accused of being involved in the death of 2-year old Landon Tanner, his then-girlfriend's child. Clearman was found not guilty in June 2013.
As for this latest incident, Calhoun says bond for Clearman has been set at $50,000. He bonded out of jail late Friday.
