As of Monday, Republicans had filed for all eight statewide offices. Democrats had done so for only three offices: governor, attorney general and agriculture commissioner.
It was not immediately clear whether Democrats would field candidates for lieutenant governor, treasurer, secretary of state, auditor or insurance commissioner.
Tuesday is also the qualifying deadline for the three positions on the Transportation Commission and the three spots on the Public Service Commission.
All three public service commissioners and two of the three transportation commissioners are running again.
Tuesday at 5 p.m. is also the qualifying deadline for those seeking county and state offices for House and Senate.
