Friday was night two of the preliminary competition at the Distinguished Young Woman of Mississippi event here in Meridian.

Dozens of participants were on stage at the Temple Theater competing in several different categories.

Saturday night the finals will be held at the Temple Theater, with the title of Mississippi's Distinguished Young Woman on the line along with an invite to the national event next year in Mobile.
