Distinguished Young Woman Winners React

The winners of the Distinguished Young Woman competition for Meridian and Lauderdale County paid a visit to Newscenter 11 on Sunday evening.

Meridian winner Mia Hall and Lauderdale County winner Caroline Henson stopped by our studio. The two competed against several other local contestants at the MSU Riley Center on Friday evening. Both winners tell Newscenter 11 it is an honor to represent the community in the state competition.

"But I mean, I'm excited," Henson said. "The judges picked me. I'm excited to represent those other girls. Those other girls are very talented and i'm just really happy to be picked out of such an amazing group."

"It's kind of crazy still," Hall said. "I feel like I'm just getting used to it. But overall, I'm really excited though."

Hall and Henson will both compete in the state competition for Distinguished Young Woman of 2014.
