Lauderdale County District 5 supervisor's candidate Daniel Cook has withdrawn from the race.
Cook, a Democrat, said Wednesday that he's satisfied that Republican winner, Kyle Rutledge, will make a good supervisor.
He said Rutledge is a good guy and he's known him for a long time.
Cook said he believes that Rutledge will equally represent both Democrat and Republican constituents.
Cook said if Boswell had won the GOP Primary, then he would have stayed in the race to try to beat him in the general election.
With Cook's withdrawal, Rutledge faces no opposition in November.
