Officials in Clarke County confiscated numerous dogs Thursday in what they say was an illegal puppy mill.
Eleven dogs in all were taken from an area behind Quail Run Apartments in Quitman.
The operation took place after authorities received a tip from concerned members of the community.
Officials say some of the dogs were in bad shape. They were taken to the animal clinic in Quitman for treatment.
Investigators said they don't know who owned the dogs.
