Power companies in Mississippi are preparing for whatever might happen over the next couple of days.
Officials with East Mississippi Electric Power Association say their crews will be on standby throughout the night, ready to deal with any outages that might happen.
Employees met Tuesday morning to make final preparations.
"We've got our fleet vehicles fueled up," said EMEPA spokesperson Julie Boles. "We've got materials and equipment loaded, so that our crews will be ready for the most immediate response."
Boles says EMEPA has mutual aid agreements with other electrical co-ops, and crews will be ready to go to other parts of the region, if there are no significant problems here.
