Edwards Enters Race for Tribal Chief

A man has thrown his name in the race for Choctaw tribal chief.

Keven Edwards is asking the Choctaw if they are any better off than they were four years ago when Miko Beasley Denson was elected.

Edwards is a member of the Choctaw Tribal Council, and in 2009, was recognized as the Tribal Small Business Entrepreneur of the Year. He lives in the Standing Pine Community.

"I'm looking to do a lot of things, a lot of changes," Edwards said. "They aren't drastic changes, but they are things that need to be made. I won't be cutting employment. I won't do things like that. I'm very pro-business. I just want to get things in order. "

Edwards says he wants to improve the financial health of the casino. If elected, he said he wants to create an atmosphere of job security.
