The Clarkdale and West Lauderdale Future Farmers of America clubs participated in their annual Ag Olympics at the Lauderdale County Agri-Center Thursday.
Members competed in any and everything that involved farm equipment, including a tractor pull, sack races, tug of war, and horseshoes.
Lauderdale County Schools career and technical education director, Dr. Deshannon Davis, says that both of these programs do very well in competitions against others, and that FFA teaches more than just farming.
"It teaches our students so much about agriculture, and at the same time it teaches life skills, leadership skills, respect, and volunteerism," said Davis. "So our FFA programs are really successful in our school district, and our students just learn so much from being a part of this organization."
Davis says the Ag Olympics also serve as a time to have fun in the midst of a very busy school schedule.
