Fans Flock to Last Harry Potter Flick

The Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling, and the movies that came from them, have built a solid fan base, and not just among kids.

Newscenter 11 talked to some fans in Meridian about what keeps them coming back.

"Well, I've read all the books and I think they do a good job of interpreting the books into a movie," said Donna McLendon. "I like the actors. I like everything. What's not to like?"

"I'm looking for when Harry, like, saves the day and stuff and Voldemort gets defeated," said Jenna Basehart, age 10. "And what I like about this movie is it's full of adventure and magic, which are two of my favorite things."

"Oh, actually, I read the Harry Potter books, too. If the grandkids were reading them, grandma had to read them, too," said Janet St. Lawrence. "And I'm just going to enjoy sharing it with them."

"It's Harry Potter. I mean, that's all I can explain," said Diane Thibodeaux. "If you've never seen the movies you won't understand. I have been waiting for this to come out. And I'm excited."

Thibodeaux says she never comes to movie openings, but makes the exception for Harry Potter. Some people even came early to buy tickets for a later show.
